A man was killed on the railroad tracks at Leyton tube station.
Emergency services rushed to the station after being called at 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 15, but tragically the victim was declared dead at the scene.
The victim was reportedly in his forties and police said his family had been informed, although the incident was not being treated as a suspect.
Central Line trains were detained while emergency services were handling the incident.
Passengers were told to expect serious delays and that tickets would be accepted on other transportation options.
A spokesperson for the UK transport police told MyLondon: “At 3.30pm on 15 January, officers were called to Leyton London underground station following a report of a victim on the paths.
“The paramedics were there, but a man in his forties unfortunately died on the scene.
“His family has been informed.
“This incident is currently not being treated as a suspect and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
