Apple today introduces a new feature for Apple Music users, featuring new albums, EPs and videos of their favorite artists on iOS at the top of the Library tab.
The new service first appears as a splash page on the iOS operating system in ppApple Music and tells users to “see new music from dear artists.” This allows you to receive updates on new releases of listened to artists, with notifications displayed above the library of albums and playlists.
In service settings, it seems you can’t specify exactly which artists you want to be notified about. You can only turn these notifications on or off, and see if you can see them in the Library tab.
The updated notification service is not widely available as of writing, but it seems that the selected user groups still have an update. To check this, visit the Apple Music app on your iPhone or iPad; an instant screen will appear for those who can use the new feature.
PpApple Music has provided push notifications for new albums and artist tracks from the past, but these are quite unreliable. Now that Apple is putting notifications directly into Apple Music, it seems that the company is trying to provide more reliable information on the introduction of new albums.
(Thank you, Joshua!)
