Doctors and nurses at the forefront of fighting the coronavirus face unprecedented challenges. Some hospitals, especially New York, are overwhelmed by patients, hospital staff are working hard, and may not have the right protective equipment. On Thursday, a hospital in the area received meaningful gratitude from a famous New York resident.
“Wow !!! I’m an ER doctor at Dobbs Ferry in New York and just received a pizza from Clinton,” tweeted Dr. Angela Cirilli, who works at St. John’s Riverside Hospital in Westchester County and Dobbs Ferry Emergency Medicine.
“Thank you !!!! We need a leader like you during this tough time. I’m very grateful because I didn’t know how to contact others to express my thanks.” Siriri, Maryland, “she tweeted.

New York City, adjacent to Westchester County, has become one of the two worst affected areas in the United States during the coronavirus outbreak. At the beginning of Wednesday, Mrs. Clinton tweeted a message of support to health professionals and other vital workers continuing the country.
“Healthcare professionals, grocery store employees, delivery drivers, pharmacy workers, postmen, firefighters, police, nursing home employees, and save lives, trying to keep us all together Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, “she wrote.
Daughter Chelsea Clinton shared her thoughts when news came out that the Clintons had thanked them in the form of pizza.
“The first thing I thought was to thank hospital staff wherever they were,” tweeted Chelsea Clinton. “My second was, of course, she too. Third, the pizzagates were overdriving to apply this to conspiracy theories, and I love my mother @HillaryClinton.”
Nick’s Pizza in Tarrytown, also in Westchester County, said pizza came from their store. “Thanks to Bill and @hillaryclinton for taking care of the very hard-working doctors, nurses, caretakers, local hospital guards and staff, and providing food,” she shared on Instagram.
Nick posted a picture of the pizza, they say, commissioned by the Clinton family. “Thank you for keeping our community safe,” wrote the note on the pizza box as “From Bill and Hillary Clinton.”
For more information, CBS News contacted Cirilli and Mr. Nick’s. A Hillary Clinton representative confirmed that the pizza came from the couple.
“The Clinton family sent pizza to all local hospitals in Westchester [more than 400 pies] as a sign of appreciation for everything healthcare workers are doing for the community.” Said in the email.
Mrs. Clinton has spoken on social media during the coronavirus outbreak, used Twitter to share information on new security measures, and blamed Trump for responding to the crisis.
“What this has to say is incredible: it is wrong to allow thousands of people to suffer unnecessarily and die. It’s not a recipe to save the economy,” she said Tuesday. I tweeted.
“Don’t get medical advice from a man who saw the eclipse directly,” she said in another tweet referring to Mr. Trump.
