Double Atlantic balance light and shadow in neon-tinted video for Barcelona

Twin Atlantic has released a video for their new single Barcelona.

The song comes from the upcoming studio album Power of the Scottish outfit, which will be released on January 24 via Virgin EMI. The band released Novocaine earlier in November last year.

Regarding the themes behind the shoot directed by Klaas Diersmann, front man Sam McTrusty says: “When considering the concept, I was inspired by the unique images in films such as Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind because I thought this would be the best way to to display kaleidoscopic, vignette-like writing that I used for the texts.

“After an initial conversation with Klaas, I knew that he immediately understood the vision for the video. I was blown away by the remote beauty of Kildare, Ireland, and it only contributed to mysticism. “

Diersmann adds: “The song feels like an intimate story that reveals the reality of a relationship. I imagined the couple in a beautiful but eerie landscape that took us to the wilderness of Ireland.

“This enabled us to contrast their emotional oppression in their relationship and their memories with this almost extraterrestrial open space.”

Twin Atlantic leaves the store later this month to launch the album.

They will then play a series of headline shows in the UK in March and will appear at the Glasgow TRNSMT festival on 11 July.
