Eddie's car accident in

Spoilers ahead for the Season 2 finale of Million Little Things. Just when everything was looking for Eddie and Catherine, Eddie hit a car on a million little things. The moment was absolutely shocking, as the fans believed Eddie was out of the woods after he had just rejected the drink in a dark moment. He called Catherine, was on the way to renewing their vow, and then! car accident.

Gary cemented what was going on when he told Maggie at the airport, “I can’t lose another friend.” He talked about Maggie, but now he could lose Eddie instead. A pedestrian being hit by a car is a pretty serious thing. The car seemed to be trying to slow down when it hit Eddie, based on the screeching of the tires, but was that enough to save Eddie’s life? Fans will have to wait until next season possible to find out.

The show is not yet renewed for Season 3. But with such plight, fans intend ABC to bring it back. It already looks good, because DJ Nash said he originally filmed a plug-in scene to leave things on a final note if ABC canceled the show. Eddie who was hit by a car on his way to his wedding is quite far from unequivocal.

Nash never promised to ease his characters. Far from it. He prefers to perform them in the real tests of life and see if they can come out the other side. Gary went through this with his dissolution, the adoption of Rome and Regina just fell apart and now it was Eddie and Catherine’s turn to engage in some real-life drama. (Again, since they’ve already gone through a lot of Eddie’s cheating situation.)

In an interview with TV Guide, Nash explained that he wanted to break Eddie and Catherine from the happy spot they were at. “When Eddie told Catherine, ‘I’m in a good place, I can handle it,’ by design, he meant it, and he was,” Nash said. “Now, we’re doing it so it won’t be in a good place … Our show fans, I’ve heard them say like, ‘Oh, Eddie and Catherine are in such a good place. It’s not that exciting.’ It’s going to be exciting.”

The plan has already explored a plot about Eddie’s teenage friend Alex, who drowned in an accident for which Eddie may have been responsible. To make things even more “exciting” (if that’s the word Nash wants to use), now Eddie was involved in a car accident just as he pulled his life back from the disaster threshold. It would be pretty brutal if he died, for both the group of friends and us as fans. It is more likely that he will simply be seriously injured so the character can stay on the show. But hey, you never know with a million little things. No one is completely safe. Good thing we only have months on months and between us hoping to learn Eddie’s fate. Let speculation begin.
