A man has been arrested for raping a woman of the same sex, and police said he was told he was “planning a relationship”.
According to Deseret News, Adam Quinn Atwood, 34, was arrested Wednesday, March 26 and police in Salt Lake City, Utah, are investigating the alleged sexual assault as a hate crime.
They have been arrested on charges of rape, child abuse, theft, rape and sexual abuse.
The rapist told police that Atwood was the husband of a friend, and that he visited the couple on Sunday, March 22, in Salt Lake City.
Sometime in the middle of the night, a friend went to bed and said that Atwood started “grabbing and grabbing her”.
According to a police affidavit, Atwood abused her, asking her “if she was convinced she didn’t like it” and “if she was convinced she had a sexual problem”.
In an attempt to escape, he said he “grabbed her by the back of the neck and forced her into the house”, before hitting her again and grabbing her in the basement of her apartment.
The victim told him she had a dog and had not been attracted to a man, in an effort to stop her, but said he had “told her he was going to be gay”.
After being sexually assaulted, the woman ran away, left the house, and arrived in her car.
The police wrote in an affidavit: “(She) said when she got out of her car and as the door closed, the driver ran over the car and told you” you shouldn’t tell anyone “… The victim gave a sex test in which he recorded multiple injuries related to his claim. . ”
According to the Deseret News, Atwood said after his arrest, “I did not rape anyone.”
