Starting Time, Shiny Baltoy & Field Research

A new Pokemon Go event will start soon, and this time the popular mobile game will bring back the Psychic Spectacular for 2020.

This year’s Psychic Spectacular will not only start a new Shiny Pokémon and make Psychic-type Pokémon appear more frequently in the wild, but will also introduce more species from the Unova region for the first time.

While Pokémon Go remains a social game, Niantic continues to take steps to make it safe for players to get involved in these events from the comfort of their homes. Incense will continue to last longer than usual, and Pokemon seed levels have been raised. The Psychic Spectacular will be the second event since these protective measures have been put in place.

If you want to take full advantage of what Psychic Spectacular has to offer, read on to find out the start time, end time and list of Pokemon to watch out for.

Pokémon Go Psychic Spectacular begins Friday, March 27 at 8 a.m. and ends Monday, March 30 at 10 pm local time.

Shiny ballet

Shiny Baltoy’s form finally came Pokemon Go. The Ground and Psychic types will appear in the wild more often than not, but, if you miss them during a weekend event, they will remain in the game after they are finished.

Shiny Baltoy turns her red line into a bluish hue. You will not know if you find one until you find it and progress to the capture screen.

There are two new evolutionary lines of Pokémon coming to Pokémon Go from the Unova region.

Solosis, Gothita and their evolutionary path made their Pokemon Go debut this weekend, but you won’t be able to see it at the same time. Solosis will only appear during the day, while Gothita will appear at night.

Both will hatch from Eggs 5km when the event is over, so don’t worry if you can’t catch both.

The Psychic Spectacular will have specialized field research to be completed by the trainer. We will not know what it is until the program airs, so we will update this section after we learn more.

During the event, Psychic Pokémon will appear more often in 2km Eggs. These include: Abra, Drowzee, Ralts, Spoink, Baltoy, Wynaut, Beldum, Gothita and Solosis.

Raids will also shift to the Psychic Pokémon’s spotlight.
