Two-weight super-middleweight world title holder Billy Joe Saunders spoke to the Black Eye Barber Shop Show this week to discuss his fight with Canelo.
By announcing last week, the May 2 clash has been postponed due to the pandemic of coronavirus.
It is to be hoped that the battle for the summer in Las Vegas will be re-arranged as the couple meets in what has been described as a union.
Canelo still holds the regular version of WBA he took from his compatriot Rocky Fielding of Saunders in late 2018.
The Mexican superstar crushed the unlucky Brit in just rounds, slamming him down in every session.
Now Saunders will take his turn in a contest that many believe the undefeated Hatfield man can win.
“When it happens, it’s a fight that’s going to happen – a hundred percent,” Saunders told Black Eye Barber Shop hosts Johnny Nelson, Richard Poxon and Anthony Crolla.
‘I’m locked up to fight him. We are contracted to fight. It (coronavirus) has ruined everything, but as far as I understand it, I’m under contract to fight it. “

Canelo has been quiet since stopping all boxing, but remains trained.
King “Pound for Pound” has also reported to oppose former rival Gennadiy Golovkin in September, a fight that may have to be pushed back because of Saunders efforts.
Golden Boy and DAZN’s number one star hopes to unpack the new Allegiant Stadium next to Golovkin. A location that should open in August.
Wanting to become the first fighter to choose the new location, Canelo may have to agree on a contract with bosses from the Las Vegas Raiders house to keep everyone happy.
