KUALA LUMPUR, March 26 — The federal authorities will difficulty rules for Malaysians stranded abroad due to lockdowns that several nations around the world have enforced because of to the Covid-19 outbreak.
Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob mentioned some Malaysians overseas such as college students could not secure passage again to Malaysia.
“Some of the Malaysians just cannot afford to pay for to return house. We have asked Wisma Putra and Immigration Section to appear up with a typical operating process (SOP) to settle this situation.
“We will glance into bringing them residence,” said Ismail in a push meeting after chairing the exclusive activity pressure conference in Putrajaya right now.
Ismail, who is also the defence minister, mentioned he did not have the correct figures of how many Malaysians had been trapped abroad.
On stranded Malaysian college students, Ismail stated they are largely in India, Indonesia, the United Kingdom (United kingdom) and Australia.
On March 19, it was claimed that Wisma Putra recorded 841 Malaysians who are stranded overseas just after the respective governments imposed restrictions and journey bans to suppress the spreading of coronavirus (Covid-19) ailment.
Malaysian citizens were stranded in 20 nations. Those in India made up the greatest variety with 274 people followed by Uzbekistan (209) and Morocco (160).
The Foreign Ministry has presently repatriated some Malaysians from India, Bangladesh, Iran and Italy, between many others.
