SYRACUSE, NY (WSYR-TV) One of the questions we asked here on NewsChannel 9 concerns whether recipients of Social Security benefits will receive $ 1,200 in cash per person.
We checked out the New York office of Charles Schumer. He said yes.
Depending on your employees, anyone with a Social Security number is eligible to receive a check, if, as an individual, you are less than $ 75,000 per year. Couples voted for a $ 2,400 check if they were less than $ 150,000. Those who pass those degrees will earn less depending on their income.
How do you get it?
The IRS will pay you based on your tax return for 2019. If you have not applied for 2019, they will use your 2018 tax return.
Many employers say their income is too low since the IRS does not want them to file a return, so they are wondering how to get their money back.
This is where everyone put together is still working out the details.
According to Senator Schumer’s office, non-file holders can file a return for 2019, but we’re waiting for guidance from the Internal Revenue Service for non-filing tax returns. 2018/19 should happen.
We do not know when we will get that guidance from the IRS.
When do you get your money?
Unbeknownst to this time, the White House said the money should start from three weeks. Other experts say it can take a long time.
As of this writing, only U.S. The Senate approves it. The Legislature wants the plan approved before President Trump is sent for his signature
Also, remember, details on how to apply it may change.
This is the best news we have at this time.
